The FCAT is a test that is given to Florida students to rate their performance nationwide. If you child goes to school in the state of Florida they will have to take this test and there are many ways to help prepare them.  The first and most important is to make sure they go to school regularly and talk about the progress of your child with their teacher. At home, make sure they have a quite place to study and that they are well rested before test days.

This article explains how to teach a child independence from an early age. Many children can do more than they lead us to believe. The first rule is to expect more out of them than a parent normally would. A parent should also resist doing something for the child that they can do themselves and not redo what they have already done. Offer them praise when they do something right and discipline them immediately after they have misbehaved. This will make sure you send the right message.

Many parents want to begin teaching their children to read before kindergarten. If you are one of those parents, here are some tips to help. Start by reading together when your child is still young and read on a daily basis. Make the book fun for your child by reading in a funny voice and understand that it is time to put the book down when they get bored. As you continue to read, get a doctor to evaluate your child's abilities along the way.

The Florida Prepaid College Plan allows families to prepay the cost of college tuition, required fees and dormitory housing. The plan covers the actual cost at any Florida public college or university, or you can transfer the value of the plan to the majority of colleges in Florida, technical schools and out-of-state colleges.
