Who can submit a project idea?All residents of Escambia County can submit a project idea. There is no age limit but children under 18 must have an adult co-submit the project with them. Groups and organizations may also submit.
How many ideas can I submit?
As many as you want.
How many grants will be awarded? Five $1000 grants, one in each of Unite Escambia’s priorities: Education, Environment, Health, Housing, and Poverty.
What kind of ideas qualify? Your project idea must address one of the five priorities (Education, Environment, Health, Housing, Poverty) and a specific at-need group (ex: children under 3, homeless families, middle school students, etc.). Your project must also affect Escambia County.
When can I submit my idea? Education ideas: February 1st- 10th
Environment ideas: April
Health ideas: June
Poverty ideas: August
Housing ideas: October
Please check back for specific dates of when submission will be accepted, finalist announced, and voting begins.What is the timeline for implementing my project and using the grant? All projects must be completed within three months. Completion includes a final report of the project’s success and a sustainability plan (both completed with help from Unite Escambia’s volunteers).
Who can vote? Anyone can vote!
Can I vote more than once? Sure can.
What can I use the money for? All grant money must be used for supplies, tools, or rental costs. The money cannot be used for administrative costs or to pay someone for their time on the project.
