Project Boost-- Early Riser Receives Inspiration for Escambia Grant

The Community Drug and Alcohol Council's Project Boost-- Early Riser has won Unite Escambia's Inspiration for Escambia Grant Compeition. The project will receive an $1,000 sponosored by Landrum Human Resources and have one on one time with Unite Escambia to make the project strong, sustainable, and the best it can be for the community.

Project Boost-- Early Riser is an eight- week summer program for Oakwood Terrace children with an emphasis on reading, creativity and social skills through participation in literature enrichment activities, crafts, and related cultural field trips. The project aims to enhance children's reading skills and help with education retention during summer break.

The Inspiration for Escambia Education Grant is the first of five grants that are available to the community. In April, community members can submit and vote on Environmental projects followed by Health projects in June, Housing projects in August, and Poverty projects in October.
