Housing Volunteer Opportunities

The following volunteer opportunities are related to the goals of Unite Escambia's Housing Solutions Team. Follow the links provided or call the contact listed to learn more about each volunteer project and how to get started.

Building Homes

Habitat for Humanity:  Help build homes and improve communities in partnership with low and very low income families in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways: helping to construct homes, working in Re-Stores, helping in the office and serving on a committee. Improving People's Credit

The Housing Team works in collaboration with United Way's Financial Stability Coalition to help residents improve their financial condition and eventually be able to purchase a home or move into more stable housing. Below are several opportunities to volunteer with the Financial Stability Coalition 

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program: Seeking volunteers to become IRS certified tax preparers to help low-to-moderate income families during tax season. Click here for more details.

MoneySmart Trainer: Volunteers needed to make presentations about the nuts and bolts of basic financial literacy. Trainers will learn to present curriculum of the FDIC MoneySmart program including goal setting, identifying needs versus wants, credit, credit repair and low cost nutritious meals.
